The Pre-Sales Engineer will be responsible for working directly with Account Managers to support sales activities, undertaking several duties to ensure the success of sales activities. Including demonstrations, pre-sales scoping, proof of concept tasks, written documentation and any other duties required to deliver the position to a high standard and meet customer needs.

The successful applicant will be a strong communicator, quick to build relationships at all levels, be highly organised; required to understand and convey technically complex ideas and designs to a variety of stakeholders. You will use your communication skills and techniques to assist in successfully closing opportunities. You will be an expert in capturing customer requirements and mapping that across to the portfolio of solutions and services provided.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Keep up to date with the latest developments across the industry and product portfolio to ensure our offerings and solutions keep up with industry trends and standards
- Sales oriented approach to engagements, effectively describe and demonstrate use cases for our portfolio finding opportunities to upsell products fitted to customer needs
- Hold presales product demonstrations and scoping calls with customers identifying technical and recording them into CRM
- Create technical proposals/contribute technical content where required
- Deliver SolarWinds training for customers and internal teams as appropriate and deliver this or offsite as required
- Work within our ethos of internal knowledge sharing amongst team members, assist the other team members in own area of expertise
- Contribute to the internal repository of knowledge resources
- Host Webinars on a variety of topics

Skills:
- Previous experience working as Pre-sales Engineer/Consultant
- Good knowledge on SolarWinds Orion, or similar monitoring tools
- Confident and comfortable at delivering presales activities such as customer meetings and delivering product and solution demonstrations at various stakeholder levels within an organisation
- Able to create highly complex technical documentation with minimal input
- Previous use of CRM/database applications
- High degree of technical knowledge across a wide range of platforms

Desirable Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Comptia+, MCSE
- Working knowledge of LAN / WAN configurations, Switches, Routers and security appliances
- Network administration and troubleshooting skills (DHCP/Static, TCP/IP, DNS)
- Experience in delivering technical training to users
