Picking Coordinator
This company is one of the leading importers and processors of Softwood Products in the UK and operates from four manufacturing sites; Glastonbury, Andover, Huthwaite and Kingswinford.
Role
They are now looking for a Picking Coordinator to join their busy team in Glastonbury. You will be expected to carry out the following duties within this range and to always strive for continual improvements.
What you will be doing
- Issue all stock items for picking to the picking team in a timely and efficient manor to ensure they can be loaded on time by the transport team
- Inform sales and the despatch planner of any items that will not be completed by the due date and why
- Investigate out of stock items that have been sent for picking and report the findings to the yard manager
- Keep track of daily picking volumes and picking efficiency and report back to the yard manager
- Take part in the bi-annual stock counts
Who they are looking for
You will be self-motivated, confident and capable of working under pressure in order to meet deadline. You will be able to understand the functions within the yard and build effective relationships with the team members and operations staff. Previous experience of working within a distribution centre is highly desirable.
