Personal Assistants / Support Workers / Carers

Permanent Part-time or Bank Hours available

This leading Nationwide provider of Case Management & Rehabilitation Services requires Personal Assistant/Support Worker/Carers to support their client, a delightful boy age 13, who lives in the family home in Hapton, nr Burnley, Lancashire. He has Cerebral Palsy, & is severely physically disabled, but very bright. He is dependent in all daily living activities and requires a high level of assistance.

Role
This role is to assist our client with all aspects of care. You will be expected to implement daily therapeutic programmes & have a general role in promoting his learning, care and independence in the home & community.

Are you....
- A driver with a full driving license to drive in the UK
- Confident working in a client’s home and sensitive to the needs & wishes of his parents
- *Physically fit - Even with specialist equipment in place and training, it is important that you are physically fit. A Handling Management Plan designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries may require you to bend, kneel, squat or lunge to ensure good posture during handling tasks.
- Confident supporting our client in accessing the wider community & in a swimming pool
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality & privacy
- Flexible with working hours
- Able to work as part of a team, prepared to listen & learn new things
- Responsible & proactive with an encouraging approach
- Reliable, trustworthy and able to work under own initiative and be creative
- Excellent at planning and able to ‘risk assess’ activities
- An excellent communicator
- A good English speaker, to assist with Speech & Language therapy
- Confident using IT
- Organised & an excellent time keeper
- A non-smoker, the working environment is smoke-free
- Experienced or qualified in caring for children/young people with severe disabilities (desirable)

Hours
Part-time hours available to cover following shifts: Wednesdays 2.30pm – 9pm, Thursdays 3.45pm - 9pm, Fridays 8.45pm - 9am & Saturdays 10am - 9pm. Hours can be shared by more than one person, additional hours available during school holidays and to cover staff absences.

Pay & Benefits
From £9.00 per hour, depending on experience, to be reviewed after successful completion of probation. Holiday entitlement, ongoing training & support provided. Free DBS.
