This is an opportunity to join an online and national retailer of quality electronic cigarette and vaping merchandise, stocking a large range of e-liquids, hardware, accessories and more.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer for their business. There will be multiple payroll runs per month, split across both of their companies for both hourly paid and salaried staff.

The ideal candidate will already possess:

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Payroll Officer role
- Previous use of Sage 50 payroll is essential
- Experience of all requisite year end procedures
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong IT skills
- Be organised, have the ability to work on their own initiative with good time management skills

Key responsibilities :

- Process company's payroll every pay period
- Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
- Use Sage Payroll to computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
- Calculation of SSP, SMP, PP etc and control of Earnings attachments
- Reporting RTI to HMRC
- Ongoing monitoring of Auto Enrolment requirements and - Pension administration and contributions
- Processes new Starters & Leavers
- Answers staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
- Receives and coordinates requests for leave and other absences
- Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
- Honours confidentiality of employees' pay records
- Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review
- Determines organisation's tax obligations by calculating national and council taxes as well as National Insurance contributions
- Assisting in implementation of benefit schemes;
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of legislation.
