Payroll and Benefits Advisor

You will be supporting the processing of the Payroll function and play a vital role in the support/delivery of Compensation and Benefits processing across this business as well as providing analytical and functional support and advice to the HR team, key stakeholders and the wider business. This role is not just payroll data entry it is specialist role in wider HR multi-site team.

The business manages critical incidents in the car and home on behalf of the world’s leading insurers, brokers and fleet managers, together with warranty and service plan provision for many automotive manufacturers globally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery and processing of company benefits including all salary sacrifice schemes, flexible benefits, contractual benefits ensuring all are aligned and harmonised
- Data extraction and manipulation of payroll data to support management queries and monthly reporting
- Assist monthly pay runs to time, cost and quality – with a right first time approach.
- Adhere to all legislative procedures including: Tax Authorities, share options, RTI, Auto enrolment etc.
- Keep abreast of all payroll legislation and any future changes; supports processing to include year-end P60s, P11Ds.
- Responsible for data integrity, accuracy, and maintenance of all compensation related data and reports in line with all legislation
- Provide technical knowledge in the specialism of payroll and work with HR colleagues to deliver specialist projects and interventions
- Inputs to project support for any HR project as necessary
- Deliver high standards of compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and client requirements and seek to keep knowledge of employment taxes and pensions current
- Manage employee queries to the payroll queries inbox in a timely fashion and set expectations if a longer resolution is required

Essential Experience / Knowledge / Qualifications
- Previous experience of working in a payroll function circa 500 + employees for at least 3 years
- Demonstrable experience of manual calculations to support payroll verification checks
- Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office (minimum intermediate level)
- Work ethic, a challenging approach and meticulous approach to all matters payroll processing

Desirable Experience / Knowledge / Qualifications
- CIPP, AAT payroll qualifications, or working towards
- Previous post held in an Accounting or Payroll Function
- Knowledge of payroll and finance platform integrations
- Making back end file submissions from payroll
