This principal construction contractor is looking to recruit an Operations Manager. This is an Operational Manager level position and the successful candidate would be reporting to the Operations Director of the business. Principally the role holds the responsibility of managing the project delivery team which includes, Project managers, Site Managers and the general labour force.

The Operations Manager would be expected to work closely with their Operational and Commercial team to ensure an exemplary service is provided to their end users and clients whilst working safely, within set budget constraints and to agreed timescales.

The role will involve amongst other things;

- Ensuring high standards are maintained in respect of technical compliance to standards and health and safety legislation on each project.
- Ensuring the Project team deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standard whilst exceeding client expectations.
- Development and monitoring of project strategies and being involved in pre-construction delivery plans.
- Responsibility for the performance of the operations sector of the business.
- Daily management and communication of project labour requirements, ensuring efficient placement of resource and accurate labour forecasting.
- Developing, reviewing and monitoring Project Programmes.
- Reviewing and monitoring progress on Projects. Liaising with the Commercial and Project team to mitigate delays where possible.
- Building long term and sustainable customer relationships whilst maintaining the highest standards of presentation, personal integrity and customer support.
- Managing the development of the Project team and succession planning within the team to ensure opportunities are created and key personnel are retained.
- Monitoring and managing project spends in conjunction with the Commercial team.
- Working closely with the Commercial team to ensure that project information and cost data is reported to enhance the reconciliation and cost management of the projects.
- Support the Operations team in identifying technical and project specific risks. Demonstrate ownership to ensure that the risks are mitigated and actioned appropriately.

Construction experience necessary and past experience of being an Operations Manager preferred, however they are also willing to consider applicants who are looking to take the next step in their career.
