We are looking to recruit an Operations Manager to lead the engineering method development, build, testing, QC, Supply Chain, Stores and Dispatch of Datum Group products to ensure they meet cost, quality and customer required deadlines.

The Operations Manager will ensure activities are conducted in a way that fully complies with Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies, leading the operations team to continually achieve productivity, operating cost, customer service and quality target levels.

Some of the key elements to be delivered in this role are:
- Develop, communicate and implement an annual Operations plan that is in line with the wider Company strategy
- Develop, implement and maintain adherence to a Sales and Operations Plan which balances capacity with demand and is reviewed internally weekly, and agreed monthly with the Leadership Team
- Develop, communicate and implement departmental SLAs and (leading and lagging) KPIs that balance the need to ensure speed of delivery against the need to deliver quality standards, in order to meet customer and company expectations
- Design and produce a suite of Management Information to ensure the appropriate level of governance over delivery deadlines, quality standards and return on investment
- Drive a significant improvement in productivity, delivery performance and department cost, year-on-year
- Embed built-in-quality to the way of working in current and future products and systems
- Has thorough understanding of Quality, Safety and Environment accreditation systems
- Has working knowledge of budget management, in particular variance analysis and value engineering
- Has skills in setting priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of the task at hand

Successful candidates will have prior experience in management, gained within a Production, Manufacturing or Engineering environment. Ideally you will be qualified to degree level in an associated technical discipline. It is essential that you have experience of implementing lean manufacturing activities, CI, managing budgets, working to quality standards, and leading a team to delivery SLA’s and KPI’s.

The salary for the role will be up dependent on experience, with the potential for you to earn between £40,000 to £60,000.
