The Role

They are now recruiting for an Operations Manager to manage all operational activities across site, whilst driving process and operational efficiencies. The successful candidate will plan, manage and coordinate operations, ensuring and improving a level of productivity, profitability and efficiency which meets the site’s business requirements

Responsibilities

Ensure that all operations are conducted in a manner which fully complies with Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and Group policies and all relevant legislative requirements.

Lead the operations team so as to continually achieve and wherever possible exceed productivity, operating cost, customer service and quality target levels across the range of supply chain activities undertaken by the site.

To develop a “safety-first” approach through standardised application of lean techniques.

Ensure that effective order scheduling takes place following communication between operations, planning and commercial functions in order to align customer demands with the constraints of operational capacity.

Develop through team-working a culture of continuous improvement.

Formulate and agree at business level annual operational and financial budgets that secure the resources necessary to achieve agreed work programmes at optimum cost base.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced people manager and be able to demonstrate success gained in a manufacturing industry in a similar position. Ideally you will be qualified to degree level in an appropriate technical discipline. You must have an excellent working knowledge of health & safety leadership and ideally be NEBOSH trained.

You will be well-versed in lean manufacturing techniques and in managing people and developing effective team-working.
