Operations Manager

48 – 55K (dependent on experience level)

This company is a leading British Designer and maker of Contemporary Upholstery. They work with Retailers, Designers and Contract Specifiers to provide highly crafted beautiful bespoke upholstered furniture products.

They have a brand new opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to lead their talented Production and Office teams.

Offering a great salary package and an exceptional chance to really influence and promote change within the Company. The role is based in Trowbridge, close to Bath.

People and culture are key to their business success, they are looking for someone who has previously had the experience of leading the change from a workshop environment to a professional manufacturing and QC house.

The Role

- Proactively leading and empowering the Production & Office Teams
- Managing the high quality and delivery standards of the products
- Creating and driving new efficient ways of working through introduction of strategy, new processes and team empowerment.
- Culture champion – motivating, nurturing and challenging their Teams
- Overseeing the embedding of new processes to build a robust foundation for scaling up the business
- Managing the day to day running of the production facility, including responsibility for equipment, Health & Safety, minimising wastage
- Taking the business to the next level in terms of innovation, best practice and talent
- Key member of the Management Team, assisting with the future management strategy of the business.
- Manage and promote the apprenticeship programme
- Process improvement projects; i.e. Warehouse picking process, time tracking, integration of new products

Key experience and behaviours

- Extensive Operations Management experience, ideally within Furniture/ Upholstery sector or equivalent manufacturing/ engineering of high end products
- Experience of a workshop environment
Exceptional leader of people with the ability to strategically plan
- Systematic organised approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to see the bigger picture as well as the finer details
- IT literate and proficient in business planning software
- Good natured with determination and absolute integrity
- Passion and drive to bring effective change
- Prepared to take a risk if this could benefit the business in the long term
- Ability to deliver against ambitious KPIs
- Critical thinker that can challenge protocol for the future focus of the business.
