Office Assistant - Accounts Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team for a national financial services company based in Reigate.

Due to continued expansion, they are looking for an Office Junior to join their small but friendly team. The function of this role is to assist the Reigate finance team in ensuring all ways required to ensure smooth day to day running of the accounts function. The Office Junior will have experience of an office environment with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel with a logical mindset with a strong work ethic, good presentation and timekeeping.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to use their financial knowledge within a company that is set to expand further over the next few years, in an all round accounting department.

This role will require you to use your initiative and take responsibility to ensure all tasks are completed (and queries are answered) accurately and on a timely basis, including ad hoc tasks. There will be times when you will not be supervised but will still be expected to meet the requirements specified above. Therefore, you must be able to self-manage and motivate and develop your accounting skills.

The post holder is responsible for, but not limited to:

- To follow operational processes ensuring at all times you maintain a trusting relationships with colleagues
- Liaise with the assistant accountants on the daily transfers
- Assisting with the month end accounts
- Liaising with other departments within the company across the U.K to achieve the company’s objectives
- The post holder will have no direct line management responsibilities

Experience of processing applications
- Proficiency in I.T packages such as Word, Excel, Google Drive etc
- Demonstrable experience of delivering objectives to tight deadlines
- Demonstrable experience of managing information to make sound decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational & time management skills
- Acute attention to detail
- Ability to quickly build professional working relationships
- Good level of accounting experience
- Clear understanding of an accounting function (Xero preferable)
