This partnership of several social enterprises is looking for a new chef to replace the chef who retires at the end of the year. This is an ideal role for someone who is keen to work in Early Years Catering (Babies to Pre-Schoolers) and wants to gain experience or for someone experienced who wants to step into a well developed role.

The Postholder will be part of a dynamic and young team who are dedicated to the children in their care.

This is an ideal role for someone who wants to work 20 to 30 hours per week. The role is paid at National Minimum or National Living Wage as appropriate and the hours can be discussed and agreed at interview.

There is a cash bonus paid should the 5 Star Rating be maintained (checked twice a year).

Reports to: Nursery Manager / Deputy Manager

Overall Purpose of the post: To oversee the day to day running of the Nursery Kitchen, as follows:

- To be carried out daily whilst conforming to all relevant food and safety guidelines and best practices as well as Health and Safety legislation:
Opening Checks
- Stock rotation and replenishment: To ensure that the stocks are used by date order and recorded to help aid the reordering process.
- Prep and prepare breakfast.
- Serve Breakfast: Plate and serve the relevant number of portions to the appropriate rooms.
- Clean up from breakfast: Retrieve all cutlery and dishes from rooms in building, clean cutlery and dishes and store in appropriate places. Clean down work area if needed (as this is an on-going process).
- Prepare Lunch
- Serve Lunch: Plate and serve the relevant number of portions to the appropriate rooms and our dining room for pre-school
- Prep and prepare for tea
- Clean-up for lunch: Retrieve all cutlery and dishes from rooms in the building, clean cutlery and dishes and store in appropriate places and clean down work surfaces.
- Prep and plate for tea service
- Closing checks including maintaining the Safer Food Better Business Log
- Maintain Environmental Health 5 Star Award (Scores on the Doors)

In addition, to be scheduled within the working week by the Nursery Manager:

Deep clean all areas, surface and appliances
Ascertain food requirements and carry out replenishment food orders. When food arrives check order and store appropriately.

Training will be provided at the earliest opportunity possible as and when required.
