Network Support & Provisioning Engineer

This company is a leading UK Business ISP undergoing rapid growth. As part of their expansion they are recruiting for a Network Support & Provisioning Engineer to work from their Solihull, West Midlands office.

Job Role

The role of a Network Support & Provisioning Engineer is to provide efficient and reliable support and provisioning to managed network customers. The Network team forms a key part of the Operations department and provides two key functions;

- Dedicated support to business customers with their managed services including; Ethernet, their managed hardware (high-end business-grade routers and firewalls), MPLS, Co-Location and bespoke solutions
- Design, build and deployment of managed hardware for customer solutions

This is a highly-varied role, providing excellent opportunities for personal development within a highly-skilled team as well as offering valuable experience with high-end networking technologies and protocols eg MPLS, IPv6, QoS, BGP, OSPF, HSRP etc.

You will be encouraged to work autonomously within your role, prioritising workload and tasks effectively. You will also need to liaise with internal departments providing high quality customer & professional service at all times.

Network Support Engineers will be expected to participate in on-call and planned maintenance activities outside of core office hours as required by the business.

Key responsibilities
- Processing the queue of managed support tickets by phone and email
- Diagnosing and resolving faults
- Assist customers to accurately complete configuration forms to achieve their requirements
- Build and test new managed hardware devices
- Co-ordinate the deployment of managed hardware devices with customers and internal stake-holders
- Assist in planning and implementation of planned and emergency network maintenance

Candidate Profile
- Experience of support and provisioning of routers, switches and firewalls
- Working towards or already achieved; CCENT, CCNA, JNCIA
- High level of customer service skills
- Capable of producing high standard of work to deadlines
- Highly organised and able to work on own iniative
- A keen interest in IP networking and WAN technology
- Able to operate effectively in difficult and pressured situations
- Flexible and willing to work outside core business hours as required
- Full driving licence
