Offering a full portfolio of ISP services, this company is an innovative fast growing wireless ISP providing superfast and ultrafast broadband using microwave radio technology in the Lake District. They are seeking resourceful Network Engineers to assist in 1st , 2nd and 3rd line support in their Kendal office and to be involved in network development.
This role would suit someone with a good knowledge of network and internet technologies who is looking to develop their career with a company offering scope for progression.
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the existing network and helping to design and build the network in new areas.
This role also involves a lot of customer contact and as such, requires an excellent telephone manner and initiative in order to take ownership of all customer queries and take them through to resolution.
You will be tasked with:
- Resolving customer issues and recognising when to escalate
- Maintaining the company’s networks and security
- Maintaining the company’s website and hosted websites
- Maintaining VOIP systems
- Providing daily activity reports
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects (network hardware and software)
To be considered for the role of a Network Engineer, you must have:
- An IT qualification in networking (degree in Networking, CCNA or equivalent)
- Knowledge of the internet and common operating systems, applications and connectivity protocols
- Previous experience of working in a help desk or technical support environment, preferably with an ISP would be an advantage as would programming/web development capability.
Additionally, you must possess excellent verbal and written communication and problem solving skills with the ability to take ownership of problems and use your initiative.
Applicants must live within a commutable distance of Kendal or be willing to relocate and must have a full driving licence.
