A rapidly growing profit recovery company with a large number of well-known clients are looking to add a Network and Infrastructure Manager to their expanding IT team.

Main duties

The main duties of this predominantly management role would be focused on procurement, maintenance and optimisation of the company’s servers, hardware and network infrastructure and implementing a strategic framework to meet the future security, capacity, expansion and scalability requirements of the company.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the following;

- Leading an infrastructure team, managing stakeholders and workloads, performance management and mentoring team members.
Management of a 100+ node network and server room containing 10+ servers.
- Delegating network and hardware support jobs to your team and also providing hands-on technical support when required.
- Active Directory administration and Group Policy management.
- Planning and forecasting of future network expansion in line with business needs.
- Business continuity planning, backup and archiving strategy.
- Ensuring the network operates in compliance of our ISO 27001:2013 certification obligations.
- Building relationships with third party suppliers to procure hardware and technical services.
- Maintaining an asset management and replacement programme.
- Ongoing documentation of network, Infrastructure and related processes.

Essential technical Skills required;

- Experience of managing a medium to large network E.g. 100 users +
- Experience of managing a multi server environment
- System Performance tuning and monitoring
- Experience of configuring new hardware and software
- Software and Operating Systems : updating, patching, configuration changes, fault finding.
- Windows Server 2008 – 2012
- Experience of anti-malware strategies
- Infrastructure Security
- Hyper-V and virtualisation
- Advanced networking skills, E.g. VLAN, DNS, VPN Firewall configuration, routing, server builds, subnets.
- Large data volume storage solutions, including DAS, NAS, SAN.

Desirable skills;

- IIS
- v-Sphere
- CCNA certified
- SQL Server version 2008 – 2014
- T-SQL
- Linux or Unix

Person specification;

- Confident and have a proactive attitude
- Driving licence
