This company is one of the leading importers and processors of Softwood Products in the UK and operates from four manufacturing sites; Glastonbury, Andover, Huthwaite and Kingswinford.
Role
They are looking for a Kindling Operative to join their team at their Glastonbury Distribution Centre, working alongside the Machine Operator.
What you will be doing
These include (but are not exhaustive):
- Run wood off cuts through kindling machine, bag them and stack ready for storage in Kiln dryer or on pallets ready for distribution.
- Maintain Kiln dryer with wood off cuts and pallets so that it constantly runs.
- Liaise with transport department on collection and delivery of wood off cuts.
- Be observant at all times of quality and finish of kindling timber. Inform site manager immediately when a discrepancy occurs.
- Keep records daily records of how many kindling units are being produced, pallets required, net bags used, and stillage’s of wood waste.
Who they are looking for
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar environment and operating machinery. You must be well organised and able to keep up to date records whilst working. You will have good communication skills and be comfortable communicating with different departments within the business.
