The role involves attendance at properties with suspected mould proliferation and other issues related to the indoor environment, in order to carry out tests and diagnose the expected cause, nature and extent of such issues, and creation of technical reports to inform remediation protocols. You would then conduct post-remediation evaluation and offer scientific interpretation of results.

You would discuss your recommendations with customers and insurance companies, and would review and comment on recommendations of other restoration professionals.

You would keep abreast of research in areas including mycology and building science, and help shape our methodologies and processes. This includes conducting literature reviews of academic material and industry standards and guidelines, as well as conducting experiments to test the efficacy of existing or prospective new decontamination products and methods.

We will provide you with relevant training.

About You

You will have:
- Education: A Master’s degree or Doctorate in a relevant scientific or quantitative discipline*
- Preparedness to, as business needs require, travel and work outside of the standard 09.00 to 17.00 working hours
- You would be based at our office in Upminster, (Underground Zone 6) and will sometimes need to attend affected properties. Most of such properties would be in the South East of England but could be anywhere in the UK and Channel Islands and your attendance at these sites may involve overnight stays. There may also be opportunities to attend international training and conferences
- Demonstrable IT experience or relevant qualifications
*including but not limited to: Mycology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Occupational Hygiene, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- A full category ‘B’ or equivalent driving license which permits you to drive manual vehicles
- Proficiency in Excel / Numbers for Mac and a programming language such as R or Python is desirable
- Professional or academic experience in a relevant field, such as mycology, statistics, air quality management, psychrometry, industrial hygiene or building science
