They are seeking a Support Worker who shares their passion and vision, with the talent and experience to deliver quality outcomes. Applications are invited from individuals who are experienced in providing care/support to people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues. You should possess an enthusiasm for empowering individuals in the pursuance of housing, educational, leisure and job related activities.

In your role as a Support Worker you will enable service users to live with a maximum of choice and independence as well as participating in a wide range of community based activities and employment designed to meet their individual needs.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Person

You must possess sound knowledge of the needs of people who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues and behaviours that challenge in a variety of ways.

Ability to assist service users in accessing community resources and activities identified as part of their Person Centred Plan.

The ability to communicate and consult effectively with service users, staff, multi- agencies and management.

Experience with working within a team, the ability to work under pressure, pro-active and the ability to think on your feet is vital you should also be available to work shift work and sleep-ins (where applicable).

Qualifications and Skills

A good command of both written and spoken English is required. Some computer literacy is preferred.

You should be willing to constructively key work individuals in presence of their personal goals.

Candidates should be willing to complete up to NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)

Competency assessment to be completed on the day of interview.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £8.50 to £9.15 /hour
