The role:

As Media Relations Executive, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of media relations strategies to support organisational goals. You will respond effectively to media demands, so this organisation is seen as the authoritative voice of infrastructure and to protect and enhance their reputation through the media.

Actions and responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver media strategies for specific reports and campaigns
- Advise on media strategies and provide support to internal customers
- Identify emerging media themes, and recommend media approaches
- Develop relationships with their spokespeople through regular contact and provide briefing material for undertaking media interviews as appropriate
- Ensure their view is consistently and accurately represented in NCE, the monthly magazine for our members.

The ideal new Team member:

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified, have experience working in a busy press office with national, regional and trade media. Have experience in crisis and reputation management, use social media as part of the communications mix, and have previously advised senior management on media and reputational risk management. Experience of working in a committee structure environment or membership organisation is desirable. Experience of writing quality news articles for technical press and some understanding of civil engineering or construction is also desirable.
