The role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the Media and Communications team at the Institution for a keen and enthusiastic Media and Communications Coordinator.

The Media and Communications Coordinator is essential to providing support in communicating key messaging to a range of stakeholders including members, the public and company staff. The post holder will work with colleagues to provide support for public voice, knowledge transfer and member communications programmes using a variety of channels including social media.

Duties and responsibilities
- Work with HR and Divisional Directors to complete text of business announcements (under supervision of Lead Media and Communications Manager)
- Liaise with the Website Specialist to ensure smooth publication of member and internal communications material
- Produce articles for staff intranet and member news section of the website and text for the business announcements, as directed by Lead Media and Communications Manager
- Assist with the design, creation and management of internal and external communications channels
- Provide administrative support to quarterly meetings of the employee forum, Staff briefings and quarterly ‘New Civil Engineer’ Advisory and Supervisory boards
- Assist in the co-ordination and management of stakeholder input of a group-wide communications calendar
- Provide assistance to the Social Media Specialist, when required

What are they looking for?
The successful candidate will be degree qualified and have a keen interest and enthusiasm to develop their career in the Media and Communications field. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, some experience of stakeholder management and be IT literate in Microsoft packages.

The post holder will need to be a team player, comfortable working with senior managers and Directors and not afraid to network and increase their profile within the Institution.
