Main Duties:
- Design and develop new and existing products for P.A.Hilton Ltd.
- Responsible for generating and managing the designs for component parts, sub- assemblies, complete assemblies and wiring diagrams using 2D and 3D CAD software (Solidworks)
- Responsible for generating and managing the 2D/3D engineering drawings for component parts and general assembly’s (GA).
- A point of contact to deal with any questions or amendments relating to design and technical queries.
- Work to strict deadlines in an efficient and structured manner, and manage time accordingly.
- Work within the small R&D group within P.A.Hilton Ltd.
For each project, prepare documentation for entering onto the P.A.Hilton Ltd MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system by others. This will include, but not limited to:
- Bill Of Material (BOM)
- Packing lists
- Tests sheets
- Wiring diagrams
- Labels
- Instruction manuals
- Build notes
- Assembly drawings
- Costings
- Test all development units, creating the necessary documentation for productions use.
- Work to instruction given by the Technical Team Leader and from own initiative and experiences to complete tasks.
- Work with minimal management.
- Fault find and solve production problems appropriate to ability and experience.
- Assist the Sales team with tender specifications, datasheets, and kit costs for new projects as well as any technical queries.
- Order development component parts when necessary.
- Liaise with sub-contractors on best means of manufacture of new components.
- Create new user instruction manuals and edit and revise existing manuals. Work with consultants on theory and procedures for manuals when necessary.
- Train existing production technicians as required for any new technology within a design.
- Any other task or activity that the company deems necessary that is within the employees abilities.
Specific Duties include:
- Design and development new and existing products for the P.A.Hilton Ltd range.
- Generate and manage all 3D CAD (Solidworks) parts, assemblies and drawings suitable for use by sub-contractors, suppliers and technicians.
- Create associated documentation for project including instruction manual, test sheet, packing list, BOM.
- Prototype Testing and assembly.
- Productionise projects for entering onto MRP system.
