Mechanical Contractor based in Kent and London, seeks a mechanically biased contracts manager to join the team. Successful candidates will work as part of their growing mechanical team on an exciting portfolio of project working throughout the South of the UK.

The candidate will possess a demonstrable background in the successful delivery of mechanical projects. Within this position, you will report directly to the company owner and will take full responsibility for ensuring the successful delivery of the projects assigned to you.

As a contracts manager, you might be responsible for a single large project or a number of smaller ones. You would work closely with other construction professionals, including construction managers, quantity surveyors and planning engineers.

Main responsibilities will include
- Confidently interpret project specifications, drawings and schematics
- Planning and execution of procurement to ensure programme and budget targets are met whilst addressing client requirements
- Planning and production of project programmes, ensuring achievable programme targets are agreed with both their clients and work force
- Production of all necessary lead-in documentation to accurately record and demonstrate their plan and aspirations for the delivery of their projects and provide your team and client with the document instruments to govern the same
- Lead a team of engineers and fitters in the delivery of good quality installations and provide their clients with excellent service
- Confidently communicate with clients, colleagues, suppliers and subcontractors
- Ability to constructively negotiate with their clients, suppliers and specialist subcontractors to achieve good commercial performance
- Implementation of Health and Safety to meet with their client’s requirements, internal health and safety standards and current legislation
- Meet with clients to understand what they want to do
- Prepare and present documents for tenders
- Agree any extra work to be done within set timescales
- Gather all information together for the final account

Working hours will be from 8.00am to 5.00pm or as you are required to meet the needs of the business

About the person
- Good understanding of Electrical
- Must be willing to travel
- The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
- Can manage workforce including external parties such as contractors and consultants
- IT Skills and be confident with programmes such as Microsoft excel/ word and projects
