The Position:

They now have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Marketing Executive (Offline) to join their Marketing team. The successful candidate will join the UK’s market leading tour operator of escorted holidays by rail and will work in a growing and highly customer centric business in the heart of York’s city centre.

The position will support the CRM Manager in the delivery of the database strategies, focused on customer retention & loyalty, across our brands. You will ensure that all database activity is delivered on time, in budget and on brand, including brochure mailings, tactical brochures, targeted personalised mailings, customer events and contact strategies.

With a good working knowledge of direct marketing creative development, artwork and print production, the Marketing Executive will develop good levels of understanding of our products and services.

The main areas or responsibility in this role are to:
- Regularly review processes to improve accuracy, efficiency and cost effectiveness
- Proactively measure KPI’s including the output and performance of direct mailings
- Provide a summary report to the CRM Manager at the end of each mailing of the performance / results
- Support the CRM Manager in the delivery of business critical mailings to include print production
briefing creative / copy amends, briefing and validation of data / mailing selections
- Proof-checking artwork and feeding amends back to our in-house Studio, collating and inputting of cost against budget
- Working with our in-house Studio, from the briefs provided, to manage the creation and implementation of tactical Direct Mailings including product DM, mini supplements, inserts and leaflets
- To develop the creative impact of Direct Marketing communications
- Working with the copywriters and designers to ensure the delivery of the operational communications
- Supporting the CRM Manager in the implementation of strategic projects and in the financial control of Direct Mailings

Knowledge, skill and experience requirements:

- Marketing Degree or equivalent
- IDM or CIM qualified is preferred
- Experience of a direct mail environment
- Enthusiastic and keen to develop a Direct Marketing career
- An assertive, problem solver with high level of attention to detail and developed numerical skills/analytical capability.
- Working knowledge and practical application of that knowledge on Microsoft Office.
- Confident self-starter
- Strong organisations skills coupled with the proven ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent writing skills
- Travel or retail experience would be an advantage
