One of the leading Train Engineering Businesses in the UK is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Marketing Assistant.

As a business they pride ourselves on the quality of their work. They offer a comprehensive range of refurbishment, maintenance, overhaul and repair services to the UK rail sector, providing services on passenger trains and specialist infrastructure vehicles.

The main purpose of the role is to provide marketing support to further promote the organisation both with existing and new customers. The role will involve undertaking and supporting the following activities :

- Production of all internal and external communications, including publications and newsletters.
- Maintain the website, with regular updates and refresh of news pages.
- Review and manage all social media sites associated with operation of (Facebook, twitter, Linkedin etc)
- Analyse “ hit” rates on website and social media and produce monthly report with recommendations.
- Assist in the development and management of the KAM / CRM database and keep in regular touch with existing customers.
- Prepare marketing and advertising materials for roadshows, rail events
- Attend events as required to promote the company
- Assist in tender response proposals
- Target potential customers within Rail Industry and outwith Rail Industry
- Organise “Open Days” with existing & potential customers
- Promote the brand on merchandise
- Monitor competitors closely and produce reports to Top Team
- Liaise with all the departments as required.

Ideally you will be a Marketing Graduate with a few years of sales and marketing experience under your belt perhaps within the transportation of people environment. Knowledge of the rail industry would be an advantage.

You will have excellent organisational skills, able to multi-task when necessary and manage conflicting priorities by effectively communicating across teams and to customers. You will obviously be familiar with all digital applications, websites and social media used for communications and marketing and able to demonstrate flair and creativity when writing content and problem solving any issues arising from market research or social media.

You should be highly competent using Microsoft applications and previous experience in the development and management of a KAM/CRM database would be helpful.
