This company is the leading supplier of science and wildlife books and equipment to academics, libraries, conservationists and wildlife enthusiasts all over the world.

They are looking for someone with a flair for writing and a good knowledge of natural history and ecology to join their marketing team.

You will need to work quickly to produce marketing emails and create printed fliers from templates. In any given week their adverts run in magazines and partner websites, their emails reach thousands of customers, and our printed fliers, catalogues and newsletters land on hundreds of doormats.
The Marketing – Content Editor plays a key role in producing and managing this material.
This is a great opportunity for a highly-motivated and well-organised individual with an interest in marketing and nature conservation.

Responsibilities:
- Write interesting and informative text about the products and services offered
- Create emails, webpages, blog posts and author/supplier interviews
- Create eye-catching and accurate fliers and mini-catalogues
- Show great attention to detail in listing price, customer and book information
- Help classify and manage customer accounts
- Use search criteria to build marketing lists from our customer database
- Develop an understanding of our business and our place in the conservation ‘industry’
- Help organise conferences and events

You will be extremely well-organised and able to get the most out of collaborative software, Microsoft Office and other apps.
You work well in a small team, staying calm under pressure and working well to deadlines.
You are an excellent communicator who can write with clarity and precision about a subject you are passionate about – natural history and ecology.
Above all, they value a common-sense approach, critical thinking and a willingness to learn new skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience using Mailchimp
- Basic HTML and use of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop software for the design of flyers and webpages from templates
- Language skills: a second language in addition to English would be advantageous

They are based in Totnes, South Devon, right next to the river Dart, halfway between Dartmoor and the coast. They have been selling natural history and science books since 1985, ecological survey equipment since 2009, and publishing magazines since 2016.
You will be joining a diverse and friendly workforce of 30 staff.

This position reports to the Senior Manager – Marketing.

This full-time permanent position is available immediately. Salary: £17,000 – £18,000 p.a. (depending on experience), based on a 37.5 hour week Mon-Fri, with the position attracting 28 days holiday p.a, including bank holidays and a generous company pension.
