The successful candidate’s main role will be support and assist in all health and safety activities in our Standard Plus workshop. In addition the candidate will be responsible for the management of the relationship with our tooling partners across all five workshops.

The job holder will be a self-motivated, confident and analytical individual and able to apply knowledge in a practical manner through the use of procedures and proven improvement tools and techniques whilst being able to converse at all levels.

Current working hours are 8:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday (half hour for lunch).

The idea candidate will:
- Be apprentice trained to HNC level or equivalent in a manufacturing related discipline
- Have a good working lnowledge of engineering drawings
- Have CNC tooling knowledge
- Have a good level of writing skills
- Strong problem solving skill
- Administrative skills
- Have a good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements in a production environment

You are likely to have previous experience of working in an engineering environment or previous experience working in a Health & Safety role.

An Engineering related degree or NEBOSH certificate would be an advantage as would any previous experience of 9 axis machining, ideally on Fanuc control machines. Ability to set and operate CNC lathes would be beneficial and use of Sold Edge 2D drawing

The main duties of the role will be to:
- Manage and coordinate H&S projects.
- Carry out risk assessments.
- Implement Safe working procedures.
- Carry out accident investigations and tool box talks.
- Organise training.
- Arrange and manage contractors when on site ensuring relevant (RAMS / Permits) paper work are in place and they are working safely and ensure approved contractor list is up to date.
- Manage tooling supplier account across multiple sites.
- To specify tools for machining components to drawings in stainless 316L, exotic alloys and Phosphor Bronze on multiple machines.
- Implement, improve and update processes and procedures as and when necessary.
- Assist with audits and review compliance against group procedures.
- Compile detailed reports and actions plans regarding improvement activates.
- Work to tight deadlines in a pressurised working environment to fulfil our corporate promise of exceptional customer service.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Carry out 6S audits and complete actions.
- Produce workshop layouts.
- Manage machine moves when new equipment is purchased.
- Strictly adhere to safe working practices and highlight any potential hazards to relevant team leaders
