The company is the UK’s foremost marketing agency supporting lenders and other leading players in the Alternative Finance and broader FinTech niches. It now seeks to recruit a Managing Director to spearhead its next stage of strategic development.
The Managing Director will be responsible for marketing, sales and operations in the agency, building and managing a team of technical specialists and client partners to secure the long-term, profitable growth of the business..
The team makes extensive use of direct marketing, paid search, social media, traditional PR and content to bring prospects to their clients. Marketing automation, lead scoring and analytics feature strongly in strategies that place firm emphasis on rapid growth and return on investment for clients. The result is a high instance of repeat business for the agency with 85% of turnover being retainer based.
The company began trading in 2008 as a full-service marketing agency. Following the emergence of the Alternative Finance and associated FinTech segments, it has successfully focussed and grown both financially and in market dominance. The company now has clients across the UK and has attracted interest from abroad.
The Managing Director will report to, and sit on, the Board of Directors and work with the CEO. He or she will be responsible for translating Board decisions from strategy into growth of turnover and profit.
In the short-to-medium term, the Managing Director will be responsible for building the sales capability and enhancing technical delivery.
To be considered, you should have proven experience in using and selling marketing technology products and services. You will have demonstrated your ability to negotiate successful contracts that have secured client satisfaction and on-going sales and profit for your employer.
You will have achieved growth in a previous commercial leadership role in a larger agency (though not necessarily as MD) or possibly achieved success in your own marketing agency.
A degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in marketing or in mathematics, statistics or in another numerate subject would be useful. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a good technical understanding of modern marketing methods and tools.
The company offers a starting salary of £55k - £60k, flexible working, 33 days holiday, a contributory pension and the potential for profit-related bonus. But of course, above all, the reward is the opportunities that go with leading a growing firm in an exciting market.
