This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK's largest one-stop shop for the jewellery maker with over 18,000 products including a huge stock of silver, gold, palladium and platinum bullion cut to customer requirements as well as huge ranges of findings, loose and finished chain, gemstones, ring blanks, jewellery making tools, silver clay, beading materials and much more.

They are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their Production department. You will work in a small Maintenance Team of four to carry out breakdown, scheduled and routine maintenance tasks as required by business / departmental needs.

The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Working proactively to manage tasks and carry out manufacturing repairs on the Birmingham site, ensuring that repairs are performed in a timely manner to a good standard.
- Maintaining process equipment and installation of new Plant and Machinery for the site.
- Work on routine mechanical breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance.
- To be fully aware of factory safety issues and work in a safe manner at all times.
- Control stock during processing to safeguard the Company’s assets while complying fully with security policies and procedures.

In order to be successful you will have:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical fitter
- Background in electro-mechanical engineering
- Recognised qualifications in Maintenance - mechanical or electrical (City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent)
- Experience in working on equipment in a production / engineering environment
- Technical skills / knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance
- Excellent interpersonal skills i.e. with internal teams / external contractors
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Good manual dexterity skills and eye-hand coordination

- Flexible (open to work overtime when required)

Hours of work:
The working week totals 37.5 hours per week Monday - Thursday 0715 – 1545 and Friday 0715-1245.

Salary is up to £23,000 pa dependent on experience.
