Due to continued expansion the Company are seeking a Maintenance Engineer located from their Ellesmere Port site.

Maintenance Engineer

To maintain a wide range of production equipment as well as general maintenance and installation within the Company planned preventative maintenance system, on line fault finding and process development on a day to day basis with responsibility of working on one’s own initiative during shifts, reporting to the Head of Engineering.

Main Duties:
- Ensure that engineering maintenance is carried out in line with the planned preventative maintenance system, scheduling and corrective action is taken when required. Booking of the work undertaken with duration and materials used through the Company CMMS.
- Help guarantee that production downtime is kept to 2% or below through planned preventative maintenance and quick and efficient management of breakdowns.
- Deal with any unscheduled and emergency maintenance work, including all fault finding and necessary repair and striving to identify the root cause in each occasion.
- Ensure that all work is performed in a consistent manner with the high standards required in a food production environment.
- Responsible for ensuring the workshop and individual toolboxes are maintained to the highest standards and in line with Good Manufacturing Practise “GMP” standards
- Identify any improvements that can be made to production lines or individual machinery or other operations.
- Conduct training of engineering and production staff in line with the company policies and procedures.
- Manage stock of supplies and equipment including obtaining any relevant specialist components, fixtures and fittings.

Essential Criteria
- Must be a qualified, multi-skilled engineer, with previous working experience gained in a Production environment.
- Must have the ability to work on their own initiative and be a confident decision maker.
- Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
- Must possess excellent problem solving, team working and interpersonal skills.
- Must have strong literacy, numeracy, communication and IT skills.
- Must be a flexible individual as some unsocial working hours will be required as well as call outs to operational emergencies.

Due to the site location own transport is essential.
