This company based Heywood, Greater Manchester, is a specialist pressure vessel and process plant equipment manufacturer serving various industries including petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemicals, nuclear, paper, glass and food industries.

An exciting opportunity for a waterjet setter operator has arisen within the manufacturing team. The role will predominantly be factory based and will involve setup, operation, and maintenance of their waterjet cutting facilities. They are looking for an experienced waterjet setter operator with an excellent attitude, attendance, and creative ideas. The successful candidate will use their machine experience and engineering knowledge to complete all sales or internal works orders on time, safely, and to the highest possible standards of quality.

Your role will involve;
- Day to day operating of a waterjet cutting machine.
- Programme cutting of all external sales and internal works orders using Sigmanest, Flow Cut, and Flow Path.
- Set-up, visual inspection, and off-loading of waterjet cut material.
- Ensuring material maintains full traceability through the process from stock to manufactured part.
- Material handling using overhead cranes, and sling usage.
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance of a waterjet cutting machine, involving daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
- Liaising with members of the sales team and other departments including, engineers, team leaders, managers and directors.
- A willingness to work overtime as and when required.

In your career to date, you will have gained sound knowledge & experience in;
- Operating a Waterjet / Laser cutting machine in a manufacturing environment.
- Working within an ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Materials handling.
- Health and safety awareness.

Key Skills and Experience

- The experience of running, and setting a waterjet cutting machines is preferred, however, experienced CNC setters will be considered.
- Good mechanical engineering background regarding machine maintenance.
- Experience working within Aerospace, Nuclear sectors for Quality assurance purposes.
- The experience of cutting low volume but high-value quality stainless steel and high alloy parts.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read, draw, and interpret engineering drawings.
- Competent with up-to-date computer applications including word, excel and AutoCAD, M/C tool software use (nesting programmes - Sigmanest)
- Trained in overhead crane and sling usage.
- Current Forklift truck licence (counterbalance /reach truck - 1.5 tonnes +Required Qualifications/experience would be advantageous.
- Good standard of education with GCSE's Grade C or above or equivalent in both Maths and English.
- Engineering Apprenticeship completed, Time-served or engineering qualifications are desirable.
