Vinyl Record Manufacture - Machine Operator - Night Shift - Portsmouth

Interested in the music industry? This company manufactures vinyl records to the highest quality, on state of the art vinyl record presses.

Due to rapid expansion, they are looking for a press operator for their night shift, working Monday to Friday. If you have experience in engineering, injection moulding, plastic moulding or on CNC machines, but also have a passion for music, this could be the job for you. You'll be pressing vinyl records for the newest artists and the back catalogues of artists from David Bowie to AC/DC.

With two record presses in operation and plans to expand their operation to six machines over the next two years, we are looking for full time, long term team employees to join their team.

Night Shift
Salary £21,000 to £23,000

You'll be running two record presses and will ensure that the quality matches the expectation of the company and clients. The presses are supported by a steam boiler, chiller units and a large compressor. In time, as well as running the presses you will be responsible for implementing maintenance routines on all the associated plant equipment.

What is involved in being a press operator?

- You'll need to follow the production schedule to ensure the smooth flow of work through the machines. Making sure the correct materials, stampers and labels are prepared for the each run, keeping downtime to a minimum.
- Setting up of each machine, to include the fitting of the stampers into the moulds. This tasks requires care and close attention
- Adjust machine parts and controls as required to ensure correct speed, pressure, temperatures & materials are applied to create a quality product.
- Monitor quality throughout the production process. This includes both visual and audio inspections during production and additional quality checks as the product progress to the sleeving and packing process
- Trouble shoot, diagnose and maintain assigned machines and equipment as needed for maximum product quality, safety and operational efficiency
- Populate production records throughout the shift, as well as verbally communicate information during shift change overs
- Complete paperwork each shift to maintain production and industry regulations and company standards.

Desired Experience
