Job Overview:

The purpose of this position is to provide support for their sales and operational teams in the form of arranging stock movements throughout the UK and Europe, via the most effective and cost-efficient methods available, whilst meeting the service requirements of the individual requests. In addition to this, offer up operational support to the warehouse team during peak times, working closely with the Warehouse Team Leader.

Consisting of, but not limited to:

- Planning company-owned vehicle runs
- Quoting on best practice delivery options to sales and project teams
- Service Management of vehicles
- Work with collaborative sales teams on order backlog to offer best solution and forward planning for future delivery requirements
- Provision of Proof of Delivery (POD) for company Vehicles and preferred couriers from Leeds
- Facilitate Collections and Returns from customers and Field Staff.
- Deal with courier queries in conjunction with the Customer Service Team
- Work with Warehouse Team Leader to ensure all sales orders, consumable orders and parts requests are despatched same working day
- Ensure that the Logistics operations, both drivers and vehicles, are compliant with all legal legislation
- Ensure all processes are followed and reviewed on a periodic basis

Key Tasks:

1. Route Planning for company vehicles – daily task planning up to 2 weeks in advance
2. Liaising with preferred logistics partners to ensure best cost model for third party deliveries and services
3. Daily vehicle and safety checks to ensure vehicles are road worthy and properly maintained
4. Weekly update meetings with various Business Units to understand future requirements for logistics requirements
5. Logistics Partners performance reporting
6. Source new partners to enhance their breadth of service
7. Liaise with preferred partners to ensure that proof of deliveries (POD) are available as close to real time as possible
8. To support and promote their commitment to ISO 9001 & 14001 standards in all aspects of the role
9. Support the Warehouse team to meet and where possible exceed the KPI’s outlined by the Operations Manager
10. As a key value of all activities, consider customer services and the business by:
- Identifying opportunities to improve services or offerings
- Promoting consistency amongst the Warehouse and Logistics Team
- Ensuring records are managed efficiently to enable timely billing

Desired Skills:

- Experience in MS Office tools, such as Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience in dealing with Third-Party Suppliers
- Strong organisational skills
- Forklift License (desired but not essential, training can be provided)
- Knowledge of Transport Law
- Excellent geographical knowledge
- Calmness under pressure
- Ability to prioritise and manage several issues and requests in a structured manner
- Ability to work within multiple collaborative teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
