This consulting firm is looking for a Linux WebOps Engineer based in their London office to work directly with their clients using cloud based solutions. The successful candidate will be confident and self-motivated, and have a passion for technical problem-solving and system improvement.

Responsibilities

- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for Cloud Services/Hosted applications hosted in cloud service providers like AWS and Azure.
- Provide infrastructure/application support for applications hosted using automation framework tools.
- Systems Administration of new and existing Linux environments (RHEL).
- Writing Linux shell scripts for routine tasks like backups and health checks (Tomcat, Apache, Nginx, Drupal).
- Database administration (PostgreSQL,MySQL).
- Implement and administer reporting and monitoring systems (Nagios,
- Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
- ITIL Service Management processes (Incident Management, Change Management).
- Liaising with Cloud hosting providers.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level application support service for clients.
- Proactively look for issues in applications that are being supported.
- Troubleshooting the system to identify issues and root causes.
- Configuration and release management.
- Analysing call logs to spot trends and underlying issues.
- Documenting any new issue experienced with solutions and workarounds.
- Manage escalations within the scope of SLAs.
- Basic Windows server administration.

Desired Skills & Experience

- Experience in working with Cloud Services like AWS and Azure.
- Knowledge of an infrastructure/application automation frameworks like Terraform, Ansible and Jenkins will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge or understanding of Enterprise Java technologies and frameworks.
- Excellent problem solving and strategic-planning skills.
- Hands on experience with enterprise Java technologies and frameworks will be an advantage
- Prior experience in providing 2nd and 3rd line support for JAVA web based applications will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of an platform such as Alfresco/Activiti/Talend will be a strong advantage.
- A bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in support role will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills oral and written.
