This company is a specialist commercial law firm providing legal solutions to a range of corporate client needs. Their Brighton team is based in Saltdean, it is a small and genuinely friendly work environment, specialising in commercial property and development work.

The Role
The Managing Director is looking for an organised, enthusiastic Legal Office Assistant to help them run things efficiently in their Brighton office.

The successful candidate will be adaptable and capable of working in a multitude of different roles – predominantly administrative duties. This role would be well-suited to an enthusiastic and articulate individual looking to gain experience in a legal setting. This is an exciting opportunity to join their busy and friendly team with opportunities for progression into paralegal work if desired.

Core responsibilities will include
- Maintain office efficiency, including but not limited to: answering, screening and directing calls; coordinating incoming and outgoing mail; preparing their client-related administrative requirements; preparing and engrossing legal documents; handling occasional dictation; drafting letters; dealing with stationery needs.
- PA duties to MD: Providing support (business and occasional personal matters if necessary) and ensuring she is free to focus on fee earning in the company’s dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- General office management from controlling stationary and kitchen supplies to organising the cleaners and recycling.
- Daily delivery of time sensitive documents to post office.
- Potential to develop paralegal duties, leading to a legal career if the candidate displays an aptitude for law.
- Carry out ad hoc projects as required.

What they are looking for
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask, be flexible, and prepared to turn their hand to anything. 
- ‘Can do’ attitude and good at prioritising workloads
- Readily takes responsibility and uses initiative. 
- Experience with Microsoft applications is a must. Familiarity with Apple Macs would be a bonus.

Requirements
- Experience in administration in a law firm, or in a similar role would be preferable but is not essential.
- Written and spoken fluency in English.
- Full Driving Licence.
