This company is looking for a talented and experienced Lead Design/Controls Engineer to join the team at their Head Office in Retford, Nottinghamshire. The successful candidate will be responsible the design and implementation of a range of automation projects across multiple sectors, both nationally and internationally, as well as leading and developing more junior members of the team, including Apprentices and Graduates. THE ROLE:
Designing software and hardware for control systems to meet customers’ expectations, commissioning and service support, team leadership.
- Design, test, commission and install industrial control systems to support delivery across a wide range of sectors, including (but not limited to) waterways, leisure, manufacturing, nuclear, energy and pharmaceutical
- Hardware and software design and testing
- Software coding and configuration for PLC and SCADA or HMI interfaces.
- Production and review of technical documentation
- Project management, including budgets and timelines
- Responsible for project and site health and safety
- Supervision of sub-contractors
- Equipment testing, commissioning and service callout support as required from time to time.
- Supervision and coaching the team, including design engineers, technicians, graduates and apprentices

THE CANDIDATE:
- At least 3-5 years’ practical and relevant experience in control engineering or electrical design engineering.
- Engineering Degree (or equivalent professional qualifications)
- SCADA/PLC/Motor Control/Drives knowledge and experience
- Capable of hardware and software design and testing

Must be able to demonstrate:
- Practical problem solver
- Customer facing with good communication skills
- Ability to work to procedures in detail
- High motivation and discipline
- Willing and able to travel and work away from home (UK and abroad)
- Hold a full driving licence
