This leading European supplier of technical textile threads to the Automotive Supply Chain, is now looking for a Lab Technician to work Monday to Thursday 14:00 - 22:00 and Fridays 14:00 - 21:00

The objective of the role is to maintain quality standards by testing and analysing incoming materials, in-process production, development trials and finished products., PPAP samples and customer concerns/returns

Main responsibilities:
- Reads, understands and interprets internal, external and customer specifications, part prints and Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions (WI’s)
- Receipts, prepares and conducts inspection & physical analysis of incoming materials, in-process production, development trials and finished product test samples according to established local, national and international Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions and test methods
Assists and supports Technical/Sales etc. with the analysis if customer/competitor material
- Documents, reports and stores inspection findings, reports and test analysis results
- Ensures records of inspection and test analysis is retained and readily retrievable
- Provides prompt and accurate feedback of test data in various formats
- Initiates Non-Conformance reports (Material Rejection Notices)
- Takes appropriate action in the event of detection of non-conforming material (NCM)
- Works with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions
- Ensures all lab WI’s and test methods are accurate and up-to-date, in accordance with internal format and change control
- Inputs & supports in the data collection, analysis & trending of functional/departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Liaises with Sales, Technical & QA staff for component qualification process within the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- Ensures the Lab is kept a suitable for inspection/testing
- Ensures calibration and inspection & test equipment is used. product identification & traceability is maintained throughout the test lab process
- Trains staff in lab processes & quality assurance techniques
compliance to specified requirements by conducting & supporting Audits & surveys
- Complies with Health, Safety, Quality & work rules & regs

participate in Quality Improvement activities by applying appropriate methodical, analytical and problem solving skills with strong comms skills to communicate confidently with customers & suppliers
- Knowledge of SAP, QDA, Microsoft Office
- Basic mathematical skills
- Promotes a team culture (team leadership and interpersonal skills)
