They have a vacancy for a (6 Month) Temporary Laboratory Technician to work in their Chemical, Analytical and Testing Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Routine Testing and task allocated by the Technologist / Team Leader.
- Able to schedule own workload, work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a helpful attitude and an eagerness to get tasks completed on time.
- Flexible working around department needs.
- Carry out routine and non-routine testing to standard procedures in accordance with the organisations quality manual in a timely, organised manner and efficient manner.
- Calculate and record results along with other pertinent information in a legible and understandable manner.
- Return completed work to technologist / team leader, communicating effectively if any problems arise.
- Operate in a safe manner at all times observing risk assessments and wearing appropriate PPE when required.
- Applicant will become proficient in a range of tests.
- Maintenance and calibration of equipment when required.

Essential qualifications and / or experience

- GCSE grades A to C or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths and a Science based subject, preferably Chemistry.
- Helpful attitude towards colleagues and customers.
- Effective handwriting / record keeping.
- Able to follow instructions competently.
- Evidence of team participation and any responsibilities held.
- Highly motivated, reliable and flexible
- Able to learn new skills quickly.
- Familiar with MS Word, Excel and other basic computer skills.

Desirable qualifications, training and or experience

- Previous laboratory or testing experience.
- Evidence of practical abilities / working in a team.
- Willingness to learn /develop, adapt and grow.
- Enthusiasm for the job role.
- An eye for detail and thoroughness.
- Good team management and multi-tasking skills.
