This company is renowned amongst retailers and caterers throughout the North, as the region’s foremost independent Cash and Carry and proud owner of one of the country’s fastest growing symbol groups.

They have a very exciting long-term strategy planned for their Company and they are looking for an individual who can assist with the implementation of the people strategy which is heavily focused on the development of their employees; the right people, with the right skills, at the right time.

This is a newly created role which will enhance the current HR/People team.

The main duties of this role will be: -
- First point of contact for all training queries
- Design and implement in-house training course eg FLT, Medicines, Food Safety, Health & Safety
- Day to day responsibilities for the Company’s Apprenticeship Levy and ensuring it is used to its fullest
- Work with managers to develop the departments L&D strategy eg – skill audit/gap analysis
- Develop, implement and take ownership of the Company’s induction programme
- Develop a programme of key annual refresher training and ensure its implementation, this can include the use of e-learning
- Work alongside the Head of HR to consider the costs of planned programmes and budgets
- Evaluate all training undertaken, both in house and external and provide data on return on investment

In addition to the above, you will be fundamental in developing and taking ownership of SHAPE; the vision and key principles which set the Company standards. You will work alongside the Operations Team to develop the necessary programmes and supporting documentation and then produce relevant in-house training courses which you will deliver to all employees. Although initially this will take up a considerable amount of your time, it is a long-term project that will run alongside your day to day activities.

The ideal candidate will: -
- Ideally be qualified in the L&D/Training field
- Experience of designing and delivering learning and development programmes and solutions
- Have the ability to build strong and effective working relationships at all levels
- Be capable and happy when it comes to training to adapt to your audience – whether its is one to one or presenting in groups; you can target the training accordingly
- Be a great communicator and influencer in all situations
- Demonstrate your project management and/or multitasking experience
- Have a full UK driving licence
- Be able to work and travel around all the Company locations on a weekly basis (From Derbyshire to Liverpool)
