Kiosk Tester Job Profile

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Quality Assurance Team at one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of touch screen kiosks providing kiosk hardware and bespoke software solutions for both public and private section companies.

They supply both private and public sector organisations self service solutions and each year they have expanded their product range and customer base. Due to this continued growth they are now looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Tester who will be involved in the configuration, testing and QA of their complete product range of self-service electronic solutions.

The successful candidate will be proficient in both manual and automation testing, and have experience with .NET Framework, MySQL databases and Amazon Web Services. The candidate will be part of the Test team providing quality assurance on a range of new and existing products. The role is ‘hands on’ and will involve the testing of software and hardware to form the full kiosk solution. Full training will be given where necessary.

The key responsibilities of this role are:
- work with software developers and project support teams
- monitor applications and software systems
- carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional testing and scalability testing
- facilitate factory acceptance and user acceptance testing with customers at Head Office or at a customer location
- write and execute test scripts
- run manual and automated tests
- test in different environments including web and mobile
- develop and review user documentation
- provide quality assurance to the complete product range
- provide objective feedback to software development project teams
- design tests to mitigate risk
- work on multiple projects at one time

Skills Required (Essential):
- Flexible and able to work well in a team
- Professional attitude and consistently strong work ethic
- Ability to communicate technical scenarios concisely and clearly
- Problem solving mindset with a ‘CAN DO’ attitude
- Methodical approach to testing
- Strong written and spoken English
- Good understanding of software development lifecycles
- Passionate interest in testing and quality assurance
- Use of work management software, e.g. JIRA
- Use of test management software, e.g. Bugzilla, TFS

Skills Required (Desirable):
- Experience of Android/iOS application testing
- Expert knowledge of Operation Systems, Windows and Linux
- Solid understanding of different network devices such as routers, switches and hubs
- Use of collaboration software, e.g. Confluence
