The Junior Finance Analyst will operate processes, accounting, reporting, planning and control across the sales and purchasing cycles providing specialist advice and guidance as appropriate. The Junior Finance Analyst will also take ownership of journal posting, have an in depth understanding of business systems and be able to run and manipulate reports to provide business valuable information, for which proficiency in excel is necessary.

Main responsibilities

Cost Processing and Analytics
- Assume responsibility for month end cost journals
- Collaborating with team members to identify, analyse anomalies in cost trends
- Actively participate in team meetings and communicate results from personal testing
- Support the business in identifying and striving to achieve cost savings
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the team
- Review T&E claims for accuracy, appropriateness and compliance with policy

Debt
- Run regular client by client debt reports
- Support the debt reporting and collections processes

Documentation
- Gain good understanding of reporting documents and develop comprehensive, engaging, user-facing documentation for new and existing KPIs – particular P&L Packs
- Contribute to Management Information (MI) Packs
- Ensure that all documentation is kept up to date and accurately

Other
- Contribute to operational activities outside of the team
- Involvement in strategy work as part of a global development team
- Understand and participate in performance management processes

What they are looking for

Essential Qualifications
A 2.1 in a bachelor’s degree, finance or other

Desirable Qualifications
Higher education finance qualifications are preferable

Essential Experience
- Ability to write clearly, succinctly and engagingly on technical subjects
- Demonstrable ability in Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
- Must be able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to tasks
- Ability to motivate self and others and various sized teams
- Ability to communicate with high effectiveness
- Take personal responsibility to ensure that you adhere to all regulatory requirements and apply appropriate controls in the interests of our customers

Desirable Experience
- An understanding of basic accounting
- PeopleSoft
- nVision
