This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled, highly motivated individual to join a Leeds based hosting a solutions provider. They are currently looking to hire a Junior Linux Systems Administrator to join their team working full time. You will primarily be working alongside operations staff, developing internal systems to be used by our support and infrastructure teams.
You will have a high degree of autonomy and have the ability to shape the direction of projects you are working on. The work is not especially fast-paced and there is no firefighting or on call expectation, although you will work alongside teams with those responsibilities. You should not need a high energy environment to work hard and be productive, instead, you should be driven by a desire learn and build and robust solutions you can be proud of.
To work here you should have:
- Good knowledge and experience with Linux on the command line.
- Some scripting experience: Python, bash, Powershell etc are all good.
- Some knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, chef or puppet.
- An awareness and understanding of infosec principles.
- Proven ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies
You should also be:
- Be opinionated on IT issues, developing systems is a creative process and you must be able to participate in that.
- Be friendly, motivated, eager to learn and hugely ambitious with the goal of taking your career to the next level.
