Journals Editor
Permanent
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Location: Westminster
Hours: 36.25 hours per week
Holiday: 23 + 2 fishing days per year

The Role:
Working for a not-for-profit society publisher based in central London, you will be editorially responsible for a group of international peer-reviewed journals. They are looking for someone who has either a background in science, previous experience working for an STM publisher, or a strong understanding of the academic community and excellent communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that journals publish on time and to budget
- Oversee themed journal issues
- Provide Panels and freelance staff with a high level of support
- Work with the author community and contacts to invite new material
- Ensure appropriate quality control procedures are in place
- Promote published articles through social media

What they are looking for:
This role provides excellent career progression for someone with experience of working in a Journal editorial office. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as an understanding of journal publishing. This is not a writing or public relations role but applicants should be used to working as part of a team and be able to organise their time effectively. A high-level of computer literacy, attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills are also required.
