This organisation specialises in the national and European transportation, installation and storage of fragile, sensitive or outsized equipment for the IT, Telecommunications, Banking, Medical, Office, and Fitness industries and they are currently looking to recruit an experienced IT Support person.
In addition to supporting the group IT Manager in ongoing and future projects the more day to day role will involve the front line group IT support, maintenance and upgrade procedures. This is primarily to ensure that all IT equipment, software, networks, and databases are working optimally and users able to work efficiently.
With sites/users across the UK and the need for occasional customer and supplier engagement good communication skills are key as well as a confident and clear telephone manner so that communication of issues and resolutions with users and/or customers are dealt with as quickly and effectively as possible.
Although primarily based in North West London there will be the occasional need to visit other UK sites and so a driving license would be a great benefit, but this is not essential. Due to the spread of offices and a small team of remote users an understanding of VPN networks and WAN connectivity is also required.
They are also interested in a candidate with knowledge of website management, SEO and similar and although this is not top of the list it would be a great bonus.
Alongside general user support on devices such as PCs, laptops, printers, smartphones and tablets daily duties will include;
- Management of backup strategies
- Upgrading IT equipment
- Ensuring asset and licensing lists up to date
- Database maintenance
- Liaising with outside software/IT suppliers
- Monitor websites for issues and PPC alterations.
Ideal skills/experience;
- Very experienced in the use and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems (7-10 and Server 2012-2016)
- Able to use Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
- Basic handle on SQL
- Experience with Active Directory/Group Policy/Exchange
- Driving license
- Understanding of VPN networks
- Websites/SEO
Salary will depend on experience but should be in the 28-32k range.
