This company is one of the UK’s leading pallet networks and they are recruiting a technically strong support person to join their dynamic and motivated IT Team. Having established their position as technology leaders within the pallet network sector, their in-house IT department is responsible for every aspect of IT.

Based at their operations centre in Fradley Park, Lichfield, they use a variety of technologies to support their network of 85+ hauliers across the UK. They also have corporate partners delivering consignments to 26 European countries.

The role

The primary function of the role is to support and assist both the member network and company staff in all areas of IT. Experience of general PC maintenance and MS Office would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.

They operate a support call log / help desk system, so the ability to understand and diagnose issues quickly is essential. The candidate will also need to be able to understand key business activities to effectively manage their support cases. This role also provides the candidate an ideal position to identify potential opportunities to replace or implement new solutions.

This role also offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to work alongside their in-house developers to help in the resolution of bugs that arise from items developed.

Occasional travel to their Head Office in Leicester will also be required.

Desired technical skills and experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous but not essential.

- .NET
- SQL
- JavaScript
- VB.NET
- JQuery
- HTML / HTML 5
- CSS / CSS 3 / LESS CSS
- Database design / administration
- Web / Windows / Mobile development
