Their vibrant organization is seeking a confident 1st Line Server/Desktop Support technician to start and progress within a driven team. This great opportunity is for someone who has a solid understanding of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and has the drive to be excellent in their field.

They specialise in IT support, software development and the recommendation of new technologies for their clients. Covering the Birmingham and The Midlands from their Head Office in Bromsgrove, they provide Support & Consultancy to a diverse client base covering a wide range of industries.

About the role:

In this role as an IT Technical Support Engineer you will be helping some 250+ customers with IT technical issues. Some of the duties involve:

- Taking Helpdesk calls from their clients
- Ensuring that all helpdesk calls are logged on our support database
- Providing 1st Line remote technical support
- Escalating jobs to 2nd / 3rd line support staff
- Receiving and responding to problems from customers via email, phone and chat
- Identifying, researching, and resolving customer issues using available resources
- Following-up on customer problems not immediately resolved

Skills and experience required:

- Excellent telephone manner & communication skills are essential
- Ability to be calm when under pressure
- Confident in problem solving skills and be eager to learn
- Ability to define problems, establish facts and provide solutions
- Will need to be a team player, however also able to work without supervision
- Candidates should ideally have good GCSE grades and be keen to progress
- Knowledge and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP upwards
- Some experience of Microsoft Servers would be advantageous, but not essential
- Basic TCP/IP networks (e.g. setting up a router, Wi-Fi)
