2nd Line IT Support Technician/ Service Desk Analyst

Supporting the IT Manager by providing 2nd Line IT support to employees, 4 regional offices and possibly sites throughout the UK. This will include providing end-user application support via phone, messaging and service desk software, along with hardware set-up and support.
Occasional overnight visits to other sites may be required if necessary.

Technical
- Managing the IT Service Desk Incident queue
- Taking delivery of equipment and checking contents before assembly
- Setting up new laptops, PCs and users
- Local and remote support for approx. 100 users on day-to-day technical hardware and software issues
- Occasional visiting to the other offices and developing a close relationship with the users at all sites
- Occasional visiting to project offices on customer sites as required
- Perform system administrative tasks user and server related
- Knowledge of Networking - VPN, Firewalls, switches and routers
- Strong Windows server skills including AD + Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Knowledge of Virtual Server Environment Hyper-V
- Knowledge of SCCM and Sharepoint
- Printing management and IIS

Liaison and Communication
- Informing all employees of planned IT maintenance
- Involvement with the IT Team in regular meetings
- Liaising with IT Manager for the purpose of personal development
- Help support, train and mentor other team members

Other tasks
- Organise secure disposal and recycling of hardware
- Fielding sales calls
- Any other duties as may be required from time to time by management

Operating Systems and Software
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008-2016 Operating Systems
- Microsoft Windows 7, 8 and 10 Desktop Operating Systems
- Microsoft Office 365 or other recent versions of Office
- Microsoft SCCM and Sharepoint
- Microsoft Office 365 and Azure

Experience (minimum required):
3+ year experience in a similar role, for a similar size organisation. Evidence of good communications\interpersonal skills.

Knowledge\Qualifications:
- Windows 7, 10 experience essential
- Windows Server 2012-2016
- Microsoft Office 365 experience essential
- Good understanding of network infrastructure including LANs, WANs and telephony systems (Avaya, Skype for Business)
- Exposure to supporting end-users with varying technical ability
- Interest in personal development
