This well-established leading British Time and Attendance company produces/supplies time recording software and hardware solutions.

They are a dedicated team, looking to provide the best customer support to businesses nationwide. To sustain their growth and ever improve their outstanding service a new role has arisen and they are looking for an enthusiastic, articulate and outgoing individual to join their friendly and established IT dept.They require a bright, positive technician/ engineer to support their products both in house and on site. Full product training will be given for the role of IT Support Engineer/Technician and a the candidate must have a full driving licence.

The Role

- To be an integral part of the IT team in supporting end users of the company’s software and hardware
- Provide 1st/2nd/ line support on desktop infrastructure and Microsoft Servers
- Reporting to the IT Manager with both verbal and written reports as required
- Nationwide Travel, transport provided for business trips
- Mixture of in-house and field support/repairs – software and hardware
- Escalate issues as appropriate
- Identifying network issues and resolving them
- Network technologies such as LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
- The IT Support Engineer/Technician position will be at times very demanding and fast flowing there will be occasional nights away from home

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

- Keep IT Manager informed of incidents that arise
- Support clients in a timely and positive manor
- IT Support Technician/Engineer must be able to use hand tools inc cordless drill etc
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as necessary (this is a very varied role for a team orientated individual)

Essential Criteria

- Knowledge of Windows systems
- Knowledge of basic networking principles (TCP/IP)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent customer service skills both on the phone and face to face adaptable to all levels of profession
- Ability to translate technical language into user friendly information for clients with varying skills
- Good understanding and awareness of IT terminology

The right candidate for this Support Technician/Engineer role must be highly motivated, pragmatic and energetic team player, positive, determined and driven with a can-do attitude.

Desirable Criteria

- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Previous experience of working for a service provider
- Both hardware and software experience

Permanent salary of up to £20,000 pa

Hours of work: 8.30-5.30 office based/ Variable off site – Monday to Friday
