This company, one of the UK’s leading pallet networks, are currently seeking a technically strong Support Engineer to join their dynamic and motivated IT Team.

Having established their position as technology leaders within the pallet network sector, their in-house IT department is responsible for every aspect of IT.

Based at their operations centre in Fradley Park, Lichfield, they use a variety of technologies to support their network of 85+ hauliers across the UK. They also have corporate partners delivering consignments to 26 European countries.

The primary function of the role is to support and assist both the network members and company staff in all areas of IT.

The candidate will need to be able to understand key business activities to effectively diagnose and manage support cases as well as suggest potential improvements to existing practices.

The candidate will be required to collaborate with our in-house developers in the resolution of any bugs and feature requests, offering excellent career development & training opportunities.

Experience of general IT hardware & software maintenance would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.

Key responsibilities
- Answering 1st line support calls
- Working with customers and staff to identify and resolve issues
- Accurately record, update and resolve support requests
- Maintain a high level of customer service
- Update support documentation
- Accurately record the movements of company assets
- To install, test & configure new and existing IT hardware & software
- Be willing to attend internal training as necessary to keep up to date with the latest technology and internal system processes

Desired technical skills and experience
Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous but not essential.
- Windows Server
- Networking
- SQL Server
- Web / Windows / Mobile development
- HTML / Javascript / CSS / .NET
