A dynamic IT services company based in central Bristol is looking to expand their team of highly experienced and dedicated IT support engineers with an IT support individual who shares their philosophy and wants to join our close and mutually supportive team. This role consists of approximately 60% telephone based support using remote access agents, 20% work on client’s PCs that are brought in to be serviced/repaired and 20% onsite support.

An ideal candidate would be interested in problem solving, keen to pick up new skills and have an aptitude for learning. The ability to work as part of a team, and in a busy environment is essential, as sometimes they need to delegate work to keep on top of incoming requests. A logical approach to troubleshooting is also essential due to the wide range of technologies that we support - information might be available, but you'll need to be able to piece it together sometimes without any assistance. Attention to detail is very important.

Core Competencies:
- Active Directory and Security Permissions knowledge – Creating users, managing security groups and creating/altering shares.
- Basic Networking knowledge - How to patch cables into switches, and a basic understanding of DHCP, DNS and routing.
- Installation and Troubleshooting of common programs – how to fix Office issues, how to reinstall Office, how to install software such as Sage.
- Windows troubleshooting – including, but not limited to: Viruses, Spyware, BSODs, Slow loading times, Anti-virus issues, Hardware Upgrades
- macOS troubleshooting - permission issues, application installation/troubleshooting, reinstallation of the OS, Time Machine Backups, Airport, Screen Mirroring.
- macOS server support – server installation and configuration within a mixed Windows and Mac environment.
- Solid experience of supporting macOS within an Active Directory domain
- An excellent understanding of macOS both in the GUI and command line
- Experienced in supporting iPhones, iPads, ATV, as well as Android devices.
- Mobile device management - Deploying via Configurator and Apple DEP/VPP programs
- Proficiency in shell scripting languages (Bash/AppleScript)
Extended Skillsets that would be a bonus:
- iOS Certification, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT)
- Application development for macOS / iOS
- Linux experience - scripting, installation, management.
- Windows and Linux web based development and servers such as IIS and Apache.
- Microsoft Windows Server advanced knowledge and services such as WSUS, WDS, DHCP, DNS & Group Policy
- Server applications such as: IIS, SharePoint, Exchange, SQL
- VMware ESXi/Microsoft Hyper-V and backup programs such as Veeam.
- DOS scripting, Batch Files, Microsoft PowerShell
- VLANs, managed switches, routers, fibre optics, media converters
- IT security - encryption and VPN.

Salary is negotiable and will be related to experience but candidates seeking salaries from £15K to £30K will be considered.
