This company is a hybrid between a Managed Services Provider (MSP) and a Cloud Services Provider (CSP) based in Maidstone, Kent. Specialising in providing services based in the cloud, they have datacentre infrastructure spanning the UK, Europe and the US. Due to recent growth, they are now looking to expand their Service Desk team with an additional enthusiastic Helpdesk Analyst.

Role
You will form part of their growing Service Desk team reporting to your 1st Line Supervisor, working from 2:30PM to 11PM with a period of lone working between 6:30PM to 11PM. Day to day your role will see you interacting with a wide range of systems and technologies, primarily Linux and Windows based. You will have the opportunity to rapidly progress your skills in an encouraging environment.

Responsibilities

As a Helpdesk Analyst on the Service team, you will be responsible for:
- Support case creation and management
- Call logging and handling
- Initial fault finding and problem escalation
- Maintaining backups
- Observe and react to real-time monitoring alerts
- Carrying out security audits and software updates

Skills & Experience
Essential
- You will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a 1st line role or higher.
- You will have a high level of knowledge in major desktop operating systems (Eg. Windows)
- You will have a general understanding of common IT/networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, GPO, SMTP, WAN, LAN, VPN etc.
- You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You will have the ability to show initiative and have a proactive nature.
- You will be comfortable working alone, utilising in-house documentation, assistance and online research to assist in troubleshooting
- You will have an articulate phone manner and be comfortable making/receiving calls.

Desirable
- Any relevant qualifications (Linux+, Network+, A+, MTA)
- Linux experience
- Networking knowledge
- Previous exposure to Active Directory, Exchange, Office365
- Previous exposure to server environments
- Clean driver’s license
