This is an exciting opportunity to join an established supplier of instrumentation and valve solutions to industry for over 30 years. They supply design solutions for customer applications and act as agents and distributors for several major Process manufacturing brands such as Norgren, Buschjost, Herion, Watson Smith, Stubbe, Bourdon Baumer, Labom, Valmatic and Singer Valve into a wide range of industry sectors.
The Role
They have a vacancy for an office based sales person to handle customer enquiries across the entire product portfolio. The role involves supplying into a broad range of industry sectors that includes Food, Pharma, Process manufacturing, Chemical, Water, Utilities & Petrochem. As their service to their customers is often accompanied by application specifications and technical advice and support, the successful applicant will be able to identify with end user problems and issues within the industry and assist end users to identify and implement cost effective solutions.
The successful candidate will be required to contribute in each of the following areas.
- To promote and sell a range of valves and valve actuation packages
- To promote and sell the Control & Instrumentation products from the manufacturers for whom they are distributors and agents.
- To handle the enquiries that come into the business for product sales
The successful candidate will be expected to carry a sales conversion target and will be able to demonstrate having worked in this type of environment previously.
Candidate Experience
- Over 5 years’ experience in an engineering environment
- Experience within a previous sales or business development role
- Good interpersonal skills with a good telephone manner
- An inherent Interest in engineering or mechanical components
- Must be IT literate
- Must be self-motivated
- Must have effective communication skills
- Demonstrable record of success
Desirable:
- Experience within the Process Industry
- Experience with Valves & Actuators (for the relevant role)
- Knowledge of specifying Instrumentation and valves
- Has existing Process Industry contacts
- Has previously worked in a similar environment
